Arrival and Parking

• Good Morning! As you enter the park for today's event head straight to the event site.
  • If you wish to explore the other park resources during weekend, you must pay the entrance fee.
    • If you do not, you will be ticketed by the park rangers and you, SAE, and the Thunderbirds R/C Club will receive a fine.
  • Review the site map to understand where the event resources will be located at the flying field.
• Volunteers will get teams parked and situated in the tents. Please follow their instructions!
  • They will be trying to mitigate weather concerns during parking and arrival this morning.
• Please take one (1) table and four (4) chairs per team within the tents to ensure we have enough room and resources for everyone.

Registration

• As a reminder, student registration will begin at 8:00 am CT today (Friday). Teams, make sure that you bring a printed and signed fast-track roster to registration.
  • If the roster is not printed and signed by all team members, you will be asked to leave the line so that we can accomodate the other teams.

Tech Inspection

• Tech Inspection Recommendation - The lead tech inspectors are suggesting that you may want to bring some plastic, a tarp or something to cover your aircraft to protect from potential weather while in line. This is not a requirement, just a suggestion.
• Please review the schedule for the weekend. Advanced class teams will receive line priority at tech inspection on Friday only for the first hour. This means that they can skip two spots, at maximum, ahead of regular and advanced class during that time. This procedure is subject to change.

Weather

• There is a marginal risk of severe weather today (Friday). Be mindful of your surroundings and pay attention to app updates and loud speaker announcements.
• The Aero Design East event will occur as scheduled this weekend. There is the potential of rain at the event site. Please plan accordingly.
• Scored flight opportunities will continue to follow the posted event schedule. To maximize flight attempts, the fight line will continue to be open in cloudy, wet and rainy conditions. Additional flight time will not be added to the posted schedule due to weather.
• Flying could be delayed if the following occur: Significant Heavy Rain and Other Severe Inclement Weather Conditions (Thunder, Lightning, Severe Wind etc). Participants may be asked to take shelter if those conditions occur and will be notified when it is safe to resume operations.
• Please pay attention to the local weather as we get closer to the Aero Design East event this weekend. You will want to factor these potential conditions into your personnel and aircraft preparations.
